Payment Methods
Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard (credit card fees apply) or direct bank transfer into our nominated account. Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your reservation will be confirmed once payment is successfully received.
If paying via bank transfer, a valid credit card will be required and held as security during your stay.
Changes, Cancellations & No-Shows
Joy’s Folly strongly recommends that you obtain travel insurance. Joy’s Folly will not be held responsible for costs, and or loss of payments made or other fees incurred due to cancellations resulting from but not limited to acts of terrorism, act of God, war, strikes, theft, delay, cancellation, civil disorder, disaster, Government regulations or changes in itinerary or schedule or from any occurrences or conditions beyond its control.
Bookings for Joy’s Folly can be made through Booking.com or Airbnb. At this time, we do not accept direct individual bookings. For any changes or cancellations, please contact the third-party platform you used to make your reservation.
Group Bookings (2 or more beach houses) can be made directly through Joy’s Folly. The specific terms and conditions for your group booking will be provided via email before confirmation. Any changes or cancellations to group bookings are subject to approval by Joy’s Folly management and will be handled in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.
Guests who do not show up for their reservation will be charged the full amount of their booking.
Arrival & Departure
Check-in is from 3pm however we will notify you via SMS as soon as your beach house is ready on the day of arrival.
Check-out on your departure day is by 10.30 AM.
Unauthorised late check-outs will incur a fee of $75.00 per hour, charged to your credit card.
Late check-out up to 12.00 PM is at the discretion of Joy’s Folly management, must be pre-organised the night before departure and is dependent on other guests’ arrival that day. Late check-out must be approved by management in writing to avoid late checkout fees.
No late checkouts are permitted between 1 December to 31 January.
The following additional charges will be applied to your credit card or be otherwise recoverable from you:
$75.00 per hour after 12.00 PM and up to 2.00 PM
For check-outs after 2.00 PM, the beach house must be reserved from the previous night and therefore includes an additional nightly charge paid by direct bank transfer to our account or credit card.
Conditions of Use for Accommodation
The Owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However, the Owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.
To maintain a good standard for our guests we require all guests to comply with the following conditions.
Departure
The property should be left in a reasonable state of cleanliness. Dishes need to be washed, properly dried and stacked away, the BBQ should be cleaned and all rubbish removed from the property and placed into appropriate garbage bins provided.
Communication
A guest mobile phone number must be provided and be contactable when occupying the residence 24/7 for security and safety purposes.
Schoolies Bookings
Joy’s Folly does not take Schoolies bookings or bookings for groups under 21 years of age.
Number of Guests
These should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. Bookings will be made for the maximum number of guests you require to stay at the property at any time regardless of the number of days your additional guests choose to reside with you. We will not breakdown the cost of the bookings based on individual days for individual guests.
Erecting Equipment
Guests are at no time permitted to erect swimming pools, inflatable play equipment, shade tents, camping equipment, park caravans or such like on the property without the written consent of management.
Noise, Parties & Behaviour
Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The accommodation price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly, this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this condition may result in additional costs to you.
The accommodation is for registered guests only. There is to be no noise audible between 10.00 PM to 8.00 AM and no excessive noise at any other time. Evidence of parties and or use as a party venue will result in eviction. No refund will be applied.
Damages, Breakages & Loss
Damages, breakages or loss to or from the property are the tenant’s responsibility during their stay. Tenants shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred because of such damage, breakages or loss. Without prejudice to any other remedies available, Joy’s Folly shall be entitled to recover such costs and expenses and debit you credit card for such purpose.
Furniture must not be moved from its original position to avoid damage.
Loss: Joy’s Folly takes no responsibility for your or your guests’ or invitees’ personal property during your stay or items left at properties on departure. It is recommended that all guests and visitors purchase travel insurance to protect against loss of belongings, cancellations, injury and death.
Property Descriptions
Joy’s Folly will endeavour to describe the property and its position to the best of their ability and in good faith. We do not take any responsibility for incorrect descriptions or omissions and will not be held liable should the property not match your expectations.
Parking
One carpark per beach house is provided on site. Parking is permitted only in allocated parking bays. Subject to availability, parking for boats and/ or jet ski’s is allowable when available and via written permission from management.
Maintenance
Our maintenance staff may require access to the gardens and property during your stay. We ensure these visits are kept to a minimum but are sometimes unavoidable. Should maintenance staff need to enter the Beach House we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible.
Smoking
Joy’s Folly has a strict NO SMOKING policy anywhere on the premises, including smoking, vaping or the use of e-cigarettes. Guests found smoking indoors will be asked to leave (no refund will be applied) and all additional cleaning and deodorising costs will be at the guests’ expense and charged to your credit card.
Problems & Complaints
In the event of a problem or complaint you must inform Joy’s Folly management immediately so that we can rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Failure to follow this procedure may hinder the ability to rectify the problem or complaint and will extinguish any claim for compensation. No refund will apply in circumstance where management can rectify the problem / compliant within 24 hours.
WiFi Usage
Please note, should the Wi-Fi not be available due to technical or service issues no compensation will be given.
