Joy’s Folly sits between the major townships of Rosebud and Rye, with immediate access through nearby flora and fauna reserves to the calm, clear waters of Capel Sound Beach.
Perfect for swimming, beach cricket at low tide, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle-boarding, jet skiing and boating — the beach offers safe, family-friendly fun for all ages.
The shared Bay Trail, directly across the road, connects to historic Sorrento in one direction and Dromana in the other — ideal for walking or cycling.
There is no public camping nearby, preserving the peaceful, residential nature of the area.
You’ll also find cafes, restaurants, bakeries and major supermarkets all accessible by foot, bike or car.
Public Transport Access
Bus route 788 stops just 100m from Joy’s Folly’s front gate, providing regular service between Frankston and Portsea, via Dromana, Rosebud and Sorrento.
It connects to Frankston Train Station and runs extended services during summer months. Late-night Friday and Saturday services also operate as part of the Night Network.
